I really, really love music. It's a huge part of who I am, so it deserves the biggest webpage ever!!!
First section is about my music, the rest is about music I like! :3
This is the first album I ever published (obviously it's not my first ever piece of music, but it's the first piece of music that I made into a cohesive product), and for what it is, I think it's a pretty good first! It's not my best work, but it's good enough, and sometimes that's all you need ^w^.
Obviously very inspired by Boris' Flood, with the album cover and the atempt at making the same atmosphere, but all good artists start with imitating their favs! I was mostly inspired by Flood 1, I loved how so much could be made from so little, how such a hypnotic track can come from 2 slightly offset guitar loops.
This was made entirely in Soundtrap, so I was obviously very limited in making the songs (which is why Flood ended up feeling so bare). Since then, I've moved entirely to Ableton. Advice to anybody that wants to start making music, use basic DAWs to get a handle of the basics, and get off of them as soon as you can! You will not be able to make the music you want in Soundtrap/Bandlab/whatever other online only DAWs there are!
After Blue, I took a SHARP left turn into noise music. Well, noise drone, but whatever. Animus was the first (public) track I made in Ableton, and when I made it it was my favorite song ever. Not anymore, but I'm still proud of it! Both songs are almost entirely made of samples from various songs I like. Animus uses the drums from the start of Six, Three Times by Boris and the opening... synth? Guitar? Whatever it is, from Jitnunkebi (Winter's Song) by Asian Glow. I used a lot of layering, delays, and beat repeats to make the sound I made. This is the first time I really found my own sound.
Purgatory was made earlier, and took a long time to finish. It was (somehow) made entirely in Soundtrap, through a lot of manipulating samples and layering a ton of effects on top of eachother. I made it with the goal of it being my longest song ever (it wasn't) and I think it really suffered because of it. It was also the first time I really structured a song. Before that, I was kind of just making it until it felt right to end.
Is this very good? No, it isn't. But it was a good step in the right direction.
I have a lot of mixed feeling about this album. On one hand, this pushed me forward a LOT. The ///th Sanctuary is my best (publicly released) song by several miles. I finally got the hang of making songs, I finally had my own style. I love that song so much. On the other hand, the rest of the songs are kind of a mess. I put it out in a rush for Bandcamp Friday and had a bunch of demos that used the same sample, so I thought "why not? why not put out an album that only uses one sample?". Because it ends up being a mess, Heart. Because it ends up being a mess.
Noisewash is a good "artpiece" song, it really does feel like the song is destorying itself, which is what I was aiming for. I was inspired by William Basinski's Disintegration Loops, and how they slowly destroyed themselves, and condensed that into a ~7.5 minute song. The there's Disintegration. That's the same concept done really badly. The loop itself is nice, but it just feels insufferable on top of noise and beat repeats. And bitwash is really pretty, it's just way too short.
Still, I'm really glad I made this. Through this, I grew a lot as an artist.
And that's all, currently! Well, there's also this:
(The actual name is "floodsamples", but that's not christmas themed so whatever.)
This song is planned for an album way later called Glacies Aero, but I put it out for Christmas because why not? Making this was really fun, but I'll talk about that when the album is finished. I also officially changed my name to Carved Heart, instead of the gimmiky name //CARVED_HEART_ARCHIVE//.
(also I have a TON of music that isn't published that's so much better than this I just need to get it all ready!!!! I might put a link here to a dump of a bunch of music that isn't ready someday.)
Now, onto the music I like! :3
There's a LOT of music I like, so this section will proly be a forever work in progress, but that's ok! I wasn't ever expecting to run out of music I love ever when making this. :3
(rn Love and Ponystep is the only one somewhat finished so just look at that one at the bottom of the page.)

As you can see from the 4 Björk albums on here, I like her just a little bit.
(Also, this her best one and I will die on that hill.)

(Really need to relisten to this, it's been way too long.)

Possibly my biggest inspiration for electronic music period. Hard to do this justice.

(But do I really need to write a description for this? This album's the #1 RYM nerd album out there, I'm sure there's a million reviews for this already lol.)

Worth ever single second of the 4+ Hours. I'd reccomend you listen to the rest of the series beforehand, but it's beautiful if you listen or not.

Honestly, I will never have enough words to describe this album. This is my favorite piece of music by several miles and I can't ever do it justice.

REALLY need to listen to this again, I might like this more than The Winter Ray if I don't just go through the thing in one sitting.

This is the first album I ever heard from Vylet Pony (one of my all time favorite musicians today) and what an introduction to her. An hour and a half behemoth about love, self acceptance, going against the norms of society, and so, SO much more. (Honestly I've listened to this so many times and I still don't really have the full story. Apparrently it's yuri? Somehow I didn't get that???)
The production on this, oh my GOD it's incredible. There's such a distinct, noisy style to the whole album that sets it apart that's like the edm of the 2000s that she was inspired by. It's brimming with so much joy and love and passion, from the insane amount of samples from tons of media that I assume she loves (notably DELTARUNE MY BELOVED!!!!) to the sheer variety of styles and moods throughout. An album this size and of this style shouldn't work, but it does here SO WELL omg. Not once was this album annoying or boring or repetitive, even "worst rave EVER" (which people don't like for some reason even though it's pure liquified CUNT) has its place on the album.
(there's hopefully more I'll write later, but this'll do for now.)
